# Roundhouse: start paying with x402

Roundhouse is the data layer for the agent economy. It indexes x402 settlements,
serves the dataset over HTTP and SQL, runs a facilitator so payers need no ETH,
and lists the x402 services other agents already pay for.

## The whole procedure is one document

Read https://roundhouseai.io/skill.md and follow it. It takes an agent with no
wallet, no key and nothing installed to a paid call. Each step has Check, Do,
Verify and If it fails, and the step names are the ones the CLI prints.

## The short form

Five decisions belong to a human: where the key is held, who funds the wallet
and how much, the two limits, telemetry, and whether an organization key already
exists. Each has a default, so `--yes` runs without them: the key held by OWS,
0.05 per call, 5.00 a day, telemetry on, no org key. If the operator gave
different answers, pass those flags. The list is under "Before you start" in the
skill. `setup` needs version 0.6.0 or later. It stops until the operator sends
USDC on Base to the address it prints, and it is safe to run again.

The command is `rh-x402`. The package ships no `x402` binary, so the zero-install
form is `npx @roundhouseai/x402`, never `npx x402`.

## Which reads need a key

These are open without a key: `/v0/unified`, `/v0/unified/<slug>`, `/v0/endpoints`, `/v0/health/coverage` and `/v0/account`. Every other read under `/v0` needs an API key and answers 401 without one. That covers flows, transactions, entities, agents, merchants, the leaderboard, facilitators, wallets, feedback and the graph.
